Andrea Galvani (b. 1973, Italy) lives and works between New York and Mexico City. Working through a cross-disciplinary approach that frequently engages with scientific methods and systems of inquiry, Galvani develops a rigorous conceptual practice expressed through photography, video, drawing, sculpture, sound, architectural installation, and performance. His work examines tensions between fragility and monumentality, temporality and continuity, as well as visibility and invisibility. Through these investigations, Galvani often engages with the multiplicity of language, institutional collaboration, and forms of collective action. His expansive and immersive body of work broadens the viewer’s perspective—from the individual to the collective, from the personal to the planetary—placing human experience within larger frameworks of geological time, cosmic transformation, and social change.
