Revolver Galería Opens Houston Location at 2012 Peden Street
Houston, Texas, May 29, 2026. Revolver Galería announces the opening of its Houston location, marking an important expansion of the gallery’s international program and long-term presence in the United States. An opening reception will be held on Friday, May 29, 2026, from 5–8pm. Regular gallery hours will be Tuesday through Sunday, 11am–6pm.
Founded in Lima, Peru, in 2008 by artist Giancarlo Scaglia, Revolver Galería was established with a focus on contemporary conceptual practices from Latin America and beyond. Since its inception, the gallery has developed a program grounded in critical discourse and long-term collaboration with artists whose work engages political histories, systems of power, memory, labor, migration, and the social realities shaping contemporary life.
Over the past decade, Revolver has expanded internationally, opening spaces in Buenos Aires in 2017 and New York in 2022. Across these locations, the gallery has built a transnational platform that connects local artistic production with broader international conversations, while participating in leading art fairs and institutional collaborations worldwide.
The opening of the Houston location, led by partners Giancarlo Scaglia and Micheline Newall and directed by Megan Olivia Ebel, reflects the gallery’s commitment to a city that occupies a unique cultural position between the United States and Latin America. Shaped by migration, commerce, and longstanding cultural exchange, Houston offers a context in which the gallery’s program can engage audiences through direct cultural proximity rather than distance.
Revolver’s Houston program will focus on exhibitions rooted in conceptual rigor while continuing the gallery’s emphasis on sustained artist development, research, production, and institutional dialogue. The gallery aims to support practices over time, creating long-term frameworks for visibility and engagement across both public and private spheres.
The inaugural exhibition, Nomos, curated by Reynier Leyva Novo, opens in conjunction with the launch of the space and establishes the curatorial direction of the Houston program. Bringing together a selection of international conceptual practices, the exhibition reflects the broader concerns that have shaped Revolver’s program across its different locations. Novo, a Cuban artist based in Houston, contributes a perspective informed by both international conceptual discourse and the city’s evolving cultural landscape.
